A rainy day in Italy....

November is Italy's wettest month.  The skies are deep gray, the roads are like swimming pools, and the air is frigid.

Galoshes keep my toes nice, warm, and dry.  Tromping around in puddles is one of the great pleasures in life.

Pictures taken from a car window reveal clouds like thick blankets covering the top of the mountain, and I can smell the rain.

The car hits a bump in the road, and the book in my lap slips, reminding me of my studies.  I turn the camera off and turn my eyes to the words about the Reformation, and yet, slowly, my eyes begin to creep back to the window....

It's hard to study on a rainy day.
